Whichever way you approach this new Systematic dispatch, there’s a great story waiting to unfold…
Steffen Muller, as Microwave Prince, was one of Le Petit Prince’s (Marc Romboy´s very first label) highest-selling artists throughout the 90s. Now mastering the works of some of the most revered acts in techno, his sonic craft as an artist is clear to hear on the remastered 10 minute original from 1995. Undulating, untethered deep trance, it’s the true essence of the real progressive movement that was happening across techno and house through the 90s. Completely unhurried, soothing-yet-driving, there’s a timeless magic running throughout… Enhanced nicely by the vocal taken from the virtual 1930s recording of the fictitious story of only survivor of a Norwegian ship that disappeared in 1905. Steffen dug this out 23 years ago… Sample craft like that never ever dates.
And neither does the work of Martin Landsky. Taking the lead on this exciting release, Martin’s remix pays full respect to the original while tweaking its dynamics for the new decade. Slower, heavier and a little more compact in arrangement, all the essential elements of ‘Eternal Light’ remain in place but they’re given that special spice and drive that Martin’s best known for.
23 years apart, 90s years since the sample was recorded, many many chapters ago for Microwave Prince… There’s a hell of a lot going on with this new Systematic dispatch, whichever you approach it.
