BERT JANSCH Bert Jansch (70s UK issue of the 1965 15-trackrmono LP on the Transatlantic picture label, recorded by BillrLeader on a reel to reel in his kitchen & sold to the companyrfor the princely sum of £100. Transatlantic pressed the albumrdirectly from that reel to reel & it went on to sell 150,000rcopies – Not bad for a ‘Folkie’! With such gems as ‘Do YourHear Me Now?’ [later a hit for Donovan], the chilling ‘NeedlerOf Death’ & the omnipresent cover of Davey Graham’s ‘Angie’,rwhich was seen as pretty much a rite of passage for peoplerentering the London sixties Folk scene.
